Best site for Otome game news definitely.
I do have to agree with Krowhop below. I'd love to know where I can order some stuff be it magazines, games, CDs, etc.
(sorry there wasn't more of a comment... I'm trying to catch up to everything I've missed since your first post XD)

  • So, I'm really interested in ordering stuff. There is no order section. If we can buy through you... you should have a featured ordering section, list of products, etc. I'd buy em.

I'm so excited about this site- I can't believe how much has been done already in such a short period of time! =) I have a few suggestions which I hope aren't too bothersome! First, would you be willing to write up a list of beginner-friendly otomes? Under the editorials, Ilinox wrote Hakuouki has a lot of historial content which makes it hard for beginners, but what about the "Alice" series, or "Utapuri", etc? Secondly, for those of us not familar with all the VAs and certain otome terms, would you be willing to make a list of them? And my last one- I know this is an otome-centered site, but would you be willing to have an BL game section, or at least point out which blogs have BL in them as well? Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I can't wait to see what the next few weeks/months bring! =D

I've only played the first Utapri game, but that was my first otome game I didn't have a translator hooked up to. Most of the menu is in English and I've noticed that the script uses a lot of hiragana and katakana rather than kanji. The story is pretty straightforward as well, so as long as you have a basic knowledge of Japanese you should be able to get through it fine. The Alice series I wouldn't suggest getting into as a beginner, as I've heard the system is really complicated! Of course, that doesn't mean you can't play it if you really want to. I can't really help you with the other things, since I'm not an admin/into BL games, but could you specify as to what you mean by "otome terms"?

Thank you so much for the quick reply! Guess I'll put an order in for the game! Do you happen to know if the others in the series are similar (as in not too much kanji?) or do they get harder with each game? Maybe I'll get the Alice games now, and wait to play them. =) As for "otome terms", I've seen some terms thrown around a lot of the blogs (tsundere, yandere, etc) and appear enough times in other media that I think most probably know what they mean. But what about terms, like, er, kuudere, jiji?, etc. <--- I can't think of any others right now! =)

I think an editorial with a list of more beginner-friendly otome games would be a great idea. Or it might be a good discussion topic for the forums, perhaps? Someone is working on a list of common terms in otoge now, so hopefully that helps.

I think that to feature BL or other genres on this website would sort of take away from the focus of it. It's not that we have anything against the BL genre (I happen to be a huge fujoshi myself) but there are already quite a lot of other forums and websites for BL, and far less for otoge. :C As for which of the blogs we list that have BL content... One good way is by looking at the bottom of our RSS list: http://assets3.feedstitch.com/otome_jikan/otome-blogs Any of the blogs that are filtered (they have » Otome Games or » Otome or something else at the end) have other content besides otoge on the blog—hence the filter—and quite a bit of that other content is BL. Hope that helps!

Thank you both for reading and taking my suggestions into consideration! I really do appreciate it! =D The greedy beginner in me votes for both- it would be very interesting to read and make use of. I just started a discussion on the forums, so I'm looking forward to what others recommend! =)
Whew, I'm glad to see that, I look forward to reading the list as well!

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize you could use the RSS for that, thank you! =D
