This game is set in a beautiful and fleeting world; a blending of Japanese and Western style. The heroine bears the mission of saving the world from ruin and she faces this mission while deepening her bonds with the four chosen knights. Whether or not the knights will swear their love or loyalty is dependent upon you. It's a love story between a princess, burdened with fate, and her four knights...
Once there was a goddess who offered her hand to a devastated world.
The goddess, along with a girl and her four knights, healed the ruined land and saved the world with a life force known as "Grace".
Since then the consciousness of the sleeping goddess went into a "Reine" and the land was passed down to the four chosen knights. The world expanded and flourished as it received the grace of the goddess.
However, at one point, the seat occupied by the Reine that had been succeeded generation after generation became empty. The supply of grace stagnated and once again the world was enshrouded in darkness.
Until, at long last, the next generation of Reine was born -- Violette.
The girl, obeying the customs, chose four knights who were knights of the queen.
However, due to the long influence of an empty seat, the mens' hearts have rejected their bonds with the Reine. It is essential to have the cooperation of the knights in order to supply the world with grace.
Violette, for the sake of acquiring the loyalty and trust of the men, begins to move--
This is a love story between a princess and a knight.
This is a map of the world, Solvieux, with its four countries. Due to the lack of "Grace" the lands are decaying and each country is starting to face destruction.
Parterdeame. A sanctuary that exists in the heavens above the four countries. This is a paradise created and raised by the goddess who once saved the devastated world. The energy that supports the world, "Grace", rests in the center of the "Tree of Life" which has been standing on this floating island for countless of years.
Pivoine. A cold country with harsh winters and regularly assaulted by cold waves. Pivoine is positioned in the north of Solvieux and the homeland of Leon. 80 percent of this country is a cold zone. The symbol of this country is a red tree peony.
Campanule. A mercantile nation flourishing in nature with prosperous agriculture and dairy farms. Campanule is positioned in the south of Solvieux and the homeland of Louis. It is also a country of fine arts and beauty. The symbol of this country is a Chinese bellflower.
Chrysantheme. A military nation in a wasteland. Chrysantheme is positioned in the east of Solvieux and the homeland of Ghislain. It is in a harsh mountain range and dead lands. The symbol of this country is a chrysanthemum.
Villet. A small country blessed with rivers. Villet is positioned in the west of Solvieux and the homeland of Orpheus. It is a secluded and unexplored country; those who live here practice tranquility. The symbol of this country is a pink dianthus.
Violette. Princess of the Floating Sakura Palace.
"I have a mission that I must accomplish."
A young girl who rules over Parterdeame and is the proxy, "Reine", of the sleeping goddess. She doesn't express many emotions and has a calm and wise personality. Due to being raised in such an isolated location she is unfamiliar with human nature.
Her house is a little distance away from the home of her instructor, Hubert. It is surrounded by plenty of nature and vivid blooming flowers. Her living room comes across as feminine and florid with its pink interior.
Iwata Shinobu: I wanted to have a character who could easily be seen as a "princess". Fundamentally, she is calm and does not show many emotions. She carries the burden of being the Reine and so she has a serene disposition. Her weakness is knowledge because she was raised in a small world. Besides that though she also has a cute feminine side and she isn't a very hard heroine to approach.
Usuba Kagerou: She has a princess-like empire dress but she also has exposed shoulders and the cloth wraps around her body line, showing a dangerous female sensuality. Her under dress has embroidery in the middle and the pattern is asymmetrical on her sleeves.
Leon. A Destructive and Unrestrained Knight.
"You're my woman and that's fate!"
A knight from Pivoine and 24 years old. He acts recklessly according to his feelings and, although he is a noble, he acts without restraint and gives himself up to self-indulgent pleasures. He fell in love at first sight with a portrait of the heroine that he saw by chance. He became one of the chosen knights after forcibly stealing the position from the original knight.
His mansion is impressive and the walls are the color of red bricks. The living room is decorated with glittering gold ornaments and suits his noble birth.
Iwata Shinobu: A frank main hero who repeatedly acts recklessly and who fell in love at first sight with the heroine. He is outspoken and has sudden and complete changes of his mood. He's like a big dog. If you were to ask him to give you his hand then he would happily give it. It's easy to get attached to him but if you let down your guard he'll charge you and slobber all over your face energetically. I think training is crucial. He's the type of person that the heroine has never come in contact with before and he perplexes her.
Usuba Kagerou: The point of his design was to have the hem of the long double-breasted coat hang down. He also has a full blouse that is daringly open at the chest. He's the type to wear more casual clothing and so we wanted an atmosphere that felt like he was forced to look like a prince.
Louis. A Secretive and Decadent Knight.
"You just said something that is like a child throwing a tantrum... but I don't dislike that."
A knight from Campanule and 22 years old. He was born as an illegitimate prince and lives as he pleases; he is a man with a calm atmosphere. At first glance, he is the embodiment of a charming "ideal prince" but inside and away from the surface there is a part of him drowning in deep weariness.
His mansion has an enormous garden at the front of it. The living room is lined with delicate details.
Iwata Shinobu: If the heroine is the "princess" then this man has the appearance of a "prince" who came out of a picture book. However, this prince has some bad habits. At first glance he seems to be a friendly person but his true feelings are hard to grasp. Conversations with him are always a battle and any topic becomes a flirtation. The heroine is always exhausted. I think the sugar content in his lines are the highest but whether or not people feel happy with that is up to them!
Usuba Kagerou: Frankly he is a sparkling prince! The key note to make that impression was a white and airy silhouette. By the way, the locks of his hair are quite ruffled and his body is slim but firm. I also threw in bits here and there to give him spice.
Ghislain. A Commanding and Frenzied Knight.
"-- Become someone who is suitable to be my liege. Agreed?"
A knight from Chrysantheme and 20 years old. In his motherland he holds the nickname of "The Feared Blade of Chrysantheme" amongst the soldiers for all of his numerous military deeds. He has a fastidious and strict nature to himself and others, but he will definitely devote his loyalty to a liege that he has recognized.
His mansion can be reached by going up a long set of captivating stairs. The living room has a solemn atmosphere and the walls are adorned with weapons. The interior is suited for a soldier like him.
Iwata Shinobu: Among the four knights that were chosen, he is the most strict on the heroine. Fundamentally, he has a condescending attitude and he checks strictly to see if the heroine is really someone suitable for him to accompany; just like a brother-in-law. However, he doesn't have this attitude for no reason. He has his own pride and convictions. At first his relationship with the heroine is very strained but once he approves and obeys her then he will show some unexpected expressions.
Usuba Kagerou: His stylish hair, make-up, and ornaments were part of the design for the battle costume I was drawing. His tight full-body silhouette is loaded with the sturdiness of his character. His shoulder fur is fixed into place by the scorpion accessory.
Orpheus. A Deeply Affectionate and Lonely Knight.
"You are like the moon in the night sky. Quiet... and warm."
A knight from Villet and 19 years old. He was born as an orphan and wanders around his motherland as a minstrel. He has a bright personality and a big heart, with just a little bit of love for mischief too. He's so friendly that he's able to become friends with anyone but deep in his heart there is an opposite state of loneliness.
His mansion is surrounded by nature and a beautiful lake. The living room is lined with plants and a stylish round window. All in all a refreshing atmosphere.
Iwata Shinobu: Friendly, he's the type to be able to make friends with anyone and even the spirited heroine is able to be herself around him. His form is slender and he's a pretty boy, but he is also considerably wise in the world and strong-willed. Sometimes he says things due to his loneliness to evoke pampering. However, if you're careless you'll be lead around. He has a bit of a devilish side and this might also be his appeal.
Usuba Kagerou: His hair style and fluffy fluttering scarf gives him a vain image design. Considering his height, he has a flexible body as a young teen and I thought about conveying the drawing of a nonchalant boy when matched with Violette.
Hubert. Keeper of the Cage and Coffin.
"As expected of my princess. A perfect score on your answers. Wonderful, Violette."
He is a prime minister who is resourceful and proficient at schemes. He is also 27 years old (age of his outward appearance) and known as the walking dictionary in Parterdeame. Being in charge of the heroine's lessons, he exists closely as an older brother figure. He is basically sweet towards the heroine but he is strict when he treats her as the Reine. He is not the type to mix business with personal matters.
His mansion has calm colors and scores perfect in conveying an adult-like feeling for an intellectual like him. The lights produce a subdued Japanese taste.
Iwata Shinobu: He is the heroine's instructor and brother (although this feeling is on top of not being blood-related)... at any rate he is the closest to her. Although he dotes on her personally to a level that is affectionate, he is very strict to her as the Reine. He is a person who does not mix business and personal matters. You might see his insides as pitch black and indeed they are pitch black. Also, he has a monocle and so he is eccentric. By my lines, obviously all characters who wear glasses are eccentric.
Usuba Kagerou: His image is to have a trailing cloak and the back is embroidered with large patterns of gold wisteria. Overall, it is to carry out a heavy pressure and impression. He's also stylish. A bright string color was used for the tie and sleeve buttons and there are small accessories here and there on his body.
