A new otome game label, MariaCrown, announced their debut title in B's Log January 2014 issue. The game, Yoshiwara Higanbana, will be an R-18 release for PC. Just as the title says, it portrays a love story between an oiran in Yoshiwara and the men who are involved with her.
Yoshiwara Higanbana shows conflicts which are carried by a grown-up woman, as well as the pure feelings that drown deep into her heart. The story takes place in the Edo period. The heroine works for a brothel named "Oukaya" in Yoshiwara, capturing the hearts of men as an oiran.
Unfortunately, even if she finds a man whom she truly loves… she wouldn't be able to love him freely. Her position as a harlot creates tragedy, sorrow and jealousy, spinning into a bittersweet love story.
Rin (name is changeable)
Oiran Name: Chihaya
A commoner who became an oiran. She takes pride in her job and is extremely hardworking, showing outstanding knowledge in doctrines and arts of traditional performance. She got separated from her childhood friend at a young age, but continues to hold slight affection towards him.
The capable shipping agent
"I don't want you to force a smile, at least when you're with me."
The young owner of a shipping agency, whose job involves dealing with merchant ships. He's always calm and kind to everyone, but also straightforward and honestly says what's on his mind.
The quiet hairdresser
"I'm simply doing my job."
Oukaya's hairdresser, who was bought and employed due to his impressive skills. While loved by the harlots, he's always cold towards them because he's not interested. He rarely smiles and never really changes his expression.
The flirty warrior
"Ah, it's Chihaya-chan. Can I play with you again tonight?"
A frivolous warrior who frequently comes to Yoshiwara. Carefree and is hard to grasp. In "Oukaya", he can always be seen drunk and laying his hands on different harlots.
The ruthless broker
"If I had to say, it's the face. Everything else isn't my type."
A regular customer of "Oukaya" who works as a broker, infamous for his lack of sympathy and mercy. It seems like he doesn't like the heroine and always treats her coldly, but the reason is a mystery.
The kind brothel owner
"Unfortunately, only the men I approve can become this girl's guest."
The owner of Oukaya. He's strict when it comes to work and performance, but looks after the harlots' health behind the screen. An intellectual person with a broad knowledge.
Yoshiwara Higanbana is slated for 2014. The scenario is written by Hazuki Erika, while Ranbumi is in charge of the illustrations.
