After Otomate announced last year that they would be producing an anime series of the same title, collaborating with popular anime studio Brains Base (Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Durarara!!), the first episode has successfully aired on January 8th. The Amnesia anime will run for 13 episodes.
The cast/seiyuu remain as is from the game, but the heroine has finally been given a voice, though not a name—much to the disappointment of some fans.
- Heroine (CV: Nazuka Kaori)
- Shin (CV: Kakihara Tetsuya)
- Ikki (CV: Taniyama Kisho)
- Toma (CV: Hino Satoshi)
- Kent (CV: Ishida Akira)
- Ukyo (CV: Kouki Miyata)
- Orion (CV: Igarashi Hiromi)
The first episode introduced to us the heroine's loss of memory due to an accident and showed the appearance of Orion. It then went on to the introduction of the male characters; basically, how the entire game started. Everything was smooth and good, but people who have played through the Amnesia game will question "Why only thirteen episodes?" "Can they fit all routes in just those?" The ones who are not really familiar with the game will find themselves stumbling upon what is called a "reverse harem anime".
Truth to be told, it might be confusing at first, but the creators have something in their sleeves for us for sure. The otome game itself was a very beautiful one and very entertaining, which will definitely keep you seated. Whether or not it will be a very decent anime rendition, we will see at the end.
The anime airs every Monday, 11:30 PM JST.
